Lebron James has been phenomenal this season and tonight they won over the visiting New Jersey Nets with 32 pts. 11 assists and 3 rebounds. James has been the key to the success of Cleveland Cavaliers even without Mo Williams and Delonte West as point guards. The cool thing about Lebron James is that he makes his teammates better and look better by having and giving them open shots. James has been the Conference Player of the week for the 5th time this season and having the 12th winning streak is the first for the Cleveland's franchise. I give credit to the bench players tonight especially Jawad Williams that made his season high debut for the Cleveland.
The big difference also is the presence of Shaquille O'Neal that can finish to the rim and a great defense as well as rebounds. If you have a doubt give it to the big fella. It's been a great journey for the big fella since he started playing for Cleveland Cavaliers.
Cleveland Cavaliers is the leading team in the NBA with a record of 42-11. If Lebron James will continue his outstanding performance plus if the rest of the crew continue to be consistent they might have a big chance of going to the Finals and eventually get the championship ring. Last season has been very good for them also leading the NBA but came playoff time and they struggled to the defending Champion Boston Celtics and Orlando Magic. As Mike Brown said "adversity from the beginning that made them 0-2 will benefit them in the long run which they are enjoying the top spot right now.
Lebron James is the current MVP and might get his second MVP this season back to back. In my mind I have no doubt and no question about it. Lebron took Cleveland to the next level without Mo Williams and Delonte West and that makes him the best player and MVP this season. That's a pretty tough one to carry your team on your shoulders. He made it with his right attitude and leadership as it shows.

Posted by NBA Big Fan | 10:03 PM | javascript:void(0) | 0 comments »Since the trade of Vince Carter to the Orlando Magic from NJ Nets everything has been very good for him. He's been very consistent and being one of the longest career in NBA that's still playing right now, had really stepped up tonight helping the Orlando Magic get past New Orleans Hornets with 2 or 3 point shy of his career high. If you think of Vince Carter, you think of the crazy dunks back in his younger days and even won the Sprite Slam Dunk contest himself. Although he hasn't won any Championship but this guy can really play basketball and maybe help the Magic get a title this season if all the circumstances favor them.
Watch the fourth quarter where Vinsanity took over and made 19/27 shots. That's amazing!
I think he found his chemistry in the likes of Dwight Howard who is the leader of the team in terms of points and rebounds. He's career is far from over yet but a considerable 4-5 more years of professional basketball in the NBA is not a question as long as he is healthy. Vince Carter is one of those players that can really step up and take the game to the next level. I wonder why he wasn't chosen as a reserve in the All-Star game coming next week but hey Vince Carter is Vinsanity coming back. What do you think? Comments please.
The Lakers (39-13) visited Trail Blazers in their home court Saturday night (02/07/2010) without Kobe Bryant in their starting 5. It has been a difficult game for Mr. Bryant dealing with injuries and such so he had to sit down and witness the bench players takeover the game. I thought Lamar Odom did a heck of a job with 20 plus rebounds to pull the Lakers and win the game. As the clock winding down Ron Artest hit a long range 3 point shot in the 1st half.
Many are questioning the ability of Lakers as they lost to the Denver Nuggets a couple of days earlier without Carmelo Anthony in the roster. This time Brandon Roy and Kobe Bryant were out of the game and the two teams fought to their best ability and talent but in the end the Lakers took advantage as they were hitting shots and guard on the defensive end. Although Lakers are still the number 1 team in the West but they fall 2 games behind the leading team Cleveland Cavaliers from the East were a day ago Lebron James having a frenzy time with the visiting NY Knicks with 47 points.
If Lamar Odom's game is consistent like this they might have another chance to be in the Finals but as of now it's just a speculation. They might have a hard time getting past the Nuggets with their current performance right now even with Kobe on their team.
